Time Zone Converter
Convert time between 14 major world time zones instantly.
How to Use the Time Zone Converter
Pick a source time zone and enter a time, then choose the destination zone. The converter reads your browser's built-in IANA time zone database to look up each zone's current UTC offset — including any daylight saving adjustment in effect on that date — and calculates the equivalent local time. The result updates instantly, and if the conversion crosses midnight the destination date shifts accordingly.
How Time Zone Conversion Works
Every zone is defined by its offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). To convert, express both times relative to UTC: target = source_time − source_offset + target_offset. For example, converting 3:00 PM in Chicago (UTC-6) to Berlin (UTC+1): 15:00 + 6 = 21:00 UTC, then 21:00 + 1 = 22:00, so 10:00 PM in Berlin. The tool handles the arithmetic and the 24-hour wraparound for you.
Daylight Saving Time and Half-Hour Offsets
Offsets are not fixed year-round. Regions observing daylight saving move their clocks forward one hour in summer, so New York alternates between UTC-5 (winter) and UTC-4 (summer). Not every offset is a whole hour either: India runs at UTC+5:30, Newfoundland at UTC-3:30, and Nepal at UTC+5:45. Because the converter uses live zone data rather than a static table, it applies the correct rule automatically for the date you enter.
When to Use a Time Zone Converter
Time zone math is easy to get wrong under pressure, and the cost is a missed meeting or a call placed at 3 AM. Use this converter to schedule video calls with remote teammates, plan flight arrivals and layovers, coordinate live-stream or webinar start times for a global audience, and set reminders for market opens or sports events happening abroad. Because everything runs in your browser, no schedule data is ever sent to a server.
