Discount Calculator

Find the sale price after applying a discount. Quick preset buttons for common discount percentages.

How to Use the Discount Calculator

Enter the original price and discount percentage, then click Calculate. Use the quick preset buttons for common discount amounts like 10%, 20%, or 50% off. The result shows both how much you save and the final price you'll pay.

Shopping Tips

When comparing deals, always calculate the final price rather than just looking at the discount percentage. A 30% discount on a $100 item ($70 final) might be a worse deal than a 20% discount on an $80 item ($64 final) for the same product. This calculator makes these comparisons instant.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100, then subtract from the original price. For example: $80 with 25% off = $80 - ($80 × 0.25) = $60.
How do I calculate the original price from a sale price?
Divide the sale price by (1 minus the discount rate). For example, if something costs $60 after a 25% discount: $60 ÷ 0.75 = $80 original price.
Can I stack multiple discounts?
When stacking discounts, apply each one sequentially to the already-reduced price. Two 20% discounts don't equal 40% off—they equal 36% off (100 × 0.8 × 0.8 = 64, so 36% off).
